Personal project exploring the concepts of inspiration and movement.
Across nine separate recordings, the same piece of music was played to nine professional dancers and their spontaneous movements recorded by a single camera. No rehearsals, no pre-listening, just the improvised and instantaneous response to an input - recorded on film. It's a study of movement and how the same input inspires vastly different outputs - but somehow still remains coherent across individuals, styles and backgrounds.
This final edit of the experiment cuts between the dancers in real-time: the movements you see are the dancers exact reactions to the music you hear.
